A one-of-a-kind solution is in the works for The Barstow School that will widen its reach into Kansas. Adapting a former supermarket into a 62,680 SF dynamic STEAM-focused learning environment increases Barstow’s campus facilities by more than 50%, allowing them the space to reach more Kansas City-area learners.
A steady partner through the studies and planning of this unique adaptive reuse, Hollis + Miller Architects is under way leading visioning with all key stakeholders, including students, parents, trustees, faculty and administration. Every voice will have a chance to be heard through our co-creation exercises and discussions.
The Kansas Campus will include STEAM classrooms, robotics labs and flexible learning environments that encourage student-driven discovery. An early childhood center will also be incorporated in to the new campus, which is scheduled to open Fall 2019.
