The Park Hill South High School Addition was designed to meet the growing needs of a thriving student body and a passionate community. With more than 80 students participating in theater alone, it became clear that the school needed a dedicated environment where students could create, perform and connect. 

From the earliest stages of design, the message from students, staff, parents and district leaders was consistent: they wanted facilities that inspired pride and fostered community. The new addition delivers that vision with spaces that support academics, athletics and the arts all while embracing school spirit. 

The project includes a new competition gymnasium that doubles as a storm shelter, a state-of-the-art weight room, and a fine arts addition featuring a band practice room and a theatre scene shop with direct access to the stage. A spacious, light-filled corridor connects these areas, complete with a concession stand, named South Snacks, that encourages gathering and connection during events. 

The weight room boasts a striking illuminated panther head on the ceiling and expansive south-facing windows that fill the space with natural light. At the building’s front, hues of purple glow through large windows. Inside the gym, vibrant school colors and a bold panther graphic immediately capture attention, embodying the spirit and pride of Park Hill South.
