Exciting renovations and expansions are on the horizon for Sierra Middle School, enhancing spaces and experiences for students and staff.
Due to a growing population in Douglas County, Colorado, Sierra Middle School will soon add 6th grade to its roster. To accommodate this expansion and better serve its students, a 32,000-square-foot addition and renovation are slated for completion by January 2027.
The two-story addition will include 20 new classrooms seamlessly connected to existing learning spaces. Designed with large windows to bring in ample natural light, the new addition will offer stunning mountain views, taking advantage of the picturesque environment that serves as the school’s backdrop.
The programs housed within the new addition will serve the entire student population, ensuring that all students benefit from the expanded learning opportunities.
Students and staff can also look forward to an expanded cafeteria with new café-style seating and bold graphics celebrating school spirit. A newly renovated and expanded staff lounge as well as additional collaborative spaces will further enhance the sense of community and connection at Sierra Middle.
In addition, infrastructure upgrades will be implemented, including improved site circulation and transitioning from well water to city water. A new secure entry will be a main feature of the improved site circulation, offering both increased safety and a more welcoming entrance to the school.
These updates mark an exciting new chapter for Sierra Middle School, supporting its growing student body and offering a modern learning environment for years to come.
