The Blue Springs School District made the decision to eliminate their two stand-alone freshman centers and bring ninth graders under the same roof as the rest of the high school students. The need for additional student space led to a strategically placed new addition, creating a grand entrance as well as new secure entry and reception area. After traversing the hall of fame, visitors enter a spacious commons area complete with a two-story learning stair and proudly branded with the school’s wildcat logo and colors. Learning is on display through the flexible corridors and sliding glass walls. Science labs and a large greenhouse were also part of the addition, integrating curriculum with real-world learning experiences.
