Built through community support, Raytown South’s new performing arts addition gives students a state-of-the-art stage to learn, create and perform.
After years of small repairs to an aging auditorium, Raytown South High School now takes center stage with a modern, high-tech performing arts addition made possible by community support through a 2023 bond. Designed for ultimate flexibility, the new auditorium features 400 fixed seats and 200 retractable tiered seats, while an operable partition allows the space to divide for multiple performances, rehearsals or classes at once. The addition also includes a 1,100-square-foot scene shop, advanced audio and lighting systems, a spacious pre-function area with concessions and ticketing, a dressing room with Hollywood-style mirrors and an additional classroom that supports instruction.
